Time it takes to sell a home in Edmonton

The average time to sell a home in Edmonton for the last 12 months (from September 2013 to August 2014) has been 41 days.  It is interesting to look at this data by neighbourhood.  The amount of time it takes to sell a home is a good indicator of how desirable a neighbourhood is.  Obviously, the faster a neighbourhood sells, the more popular it is.  A note about the stats below, so to give a truer representation I've only included neighbourhoods with at least 5 home sales in the last 12 months.   Here are the top 15!

Garneau 17.5 days to sell
Tweddle Place 18.5 days to sell.  
Hairsine 20.4 days to sell
Elmwood 21.2 days to sell
Central MacDougall 21.7 days to sell
Lendrum Place 21.9 days to sell
Duggan 22.2 days to sell
Kildare 22.3 days to sell
Idylwylde 22.4 days to sell
Summerlea 23.9 days to sell
Greenfield 24.2 days to sell
Malmo Plains 24.4 days to sell
Steinhauer 24.5 days to sell
Prince Charles 24.7 days to sell
Kirkness 24.9 days to sell

Most of the neighbourhoods continue to be on the south side (8 out of the 15 are neighbourhoods on the south side of the North Saskatchewan river).  Central MacDougall continues to sell briskly, and it is a central Edmonton area that traditionally has been more affordable. 2 west end neighbourhoods made the list and those were Summerlea (near the West Edmonton mall) and Elmwood (also near the Mall and the Misericordia Hospital).
