Sales strong, inventory rising, stable prices
The number of sales according to The REALTORS Association of Edmonton for April was 1740 homes. Last April (2009) we had 1849 homes change hands. So, the sales are strong considering the change in mortgage rules that came into effect on April 19th.
The inventory is up to 8056 properties for sale. This is higher than our peak last year. In 2009 we peaked out at 7539 properties for sale. This increase in inventory caused our prices to stabilize. ...

Prices strong, inventory rising in April 2010
Our sales were strong in April, over 1800 homes sold. The prices slipped very little from March. A single family dwelling in Edmonton is selling for $383,564 in April 2010. Condos are at $253,240. The only concerning sign is the building inventory. As of April 29, 2010 the inventory is sitting at 7994. We normally see about 500 homes expire at the end of the month (come off the market). So, we should be around 7500 for an inventory level. ...
