Fastest Selling Neighbourhoods in Edmonton

If you look at the average days on market, or how long it takes to sell a home, this statistic can give you an idea how popular a neighbourhood is.  The average time it takes to sell a home in Edmonton in 2015 has been 40 days, and that is based on a single family detached home. 

The faster a home sells in the neighbourhood (lower the number of days on market) indicates that an area is desirable.  I only looked at neighbourhoods with 5 or more sales over the last 12 months. Here are the top 10 Fastest Selling Neighbourhoods in Edmonton

1. Hairsine 12.7 days to sell
2. Bergman 13.3 days to sell
3. McQueen 19.2 days to sell
4. Thorncliffe 19.9 days to sell
5. Bisset 20 days to sell
6. Lendrum Place 20.3 days to sell
7. Rio Terrace 20.7 days to sell
8. Tweddle Place 21.1 days to sell
9. Canon Ridge 21.2 days to sell
10. Carter Crest 22.2 days to sell

It is interesting to note that the neighbourhoods are spread around the city.  Hairsine, Bergman and Canon Ridge are all in the Clareview / Northeast area of Edmonton.  Mcqueen, Thorncliffe and Rio Terrace are in the west end, and Bisset and Tweddle Place are in the Mill Woods area (southeast Edmonton).  Carter Crest and Lendrum Place are southwest neighbourhoods.  Most of the neighbourhoods are affordable in the $350,000 price range.  That affordability can explain the faster sale times as well.
